Meet The Directors
Blizzard was founded in 1958 by Bob and LouAnn Carruthers, and only a handful of folks have had the privilege of owning Blizzard over the past nearly 50 years. Jeff and Jennifer Lewin became the newest owners of Blizzard in March 2004, acquiring it from Jay and Linda Rasula.
 | Jeff started in Blizzard in the Blue color level when he was about 10 years old. After two years in Blizzard's Apprentice Instructor program, Jeff passed his Rainbow test and began teaching after he graduated from high school. Jeff worked as a professional ski instructor in Utah, Colorado, Australia, and Austria during and after college at the U of M. He's also been a Ski Patroller and a USSA coach. |
After returning to Minnesota, Jeff took up snowboarding as a new challenge and is now Level 3 certified in both ski and snowboard instruction. He served on the PSIA/AASI - Central Division Board of Directors and as an Examiner on the Education Staff. When he's not on the snow, Jeff is an engineering manager at Medtronic.
Jennifer is a full-time Mom and manages the Blizzard office while on leave from her work in elementary special education. She enjoys skiing -- especially in the mountains during sunny spring days -- but doesn't get much time on snow due to dance-related knee injuries. While you won't see Jennifer at Blizzard most weekends, she's working hard behind the scenes and looks forward to talking with you when you call the Blizzard office.
We have three children, Max (age 10), Simon (age 9), and Devra (age 8).
One thing that will never change is our commitment to being the best ski and snowboard school in the Midwest! The Blizzard family is bound by a desire to share our winter passion with others, and we welcome our members, parents, and staff to the family!
